Rainwater Tank
If the Rainwater Tanks are made in one piece and not in two halves, with no seams or seals, they cannot leak.
OASIS rainwater tanks are a one piece construction.
Warranty
The warranty on the tank is important as a Domestic Rainwater Harvester is a lifetime investment. Some manufacturers' warranties are only 12 months. OASIS rainwater harvesting tanks have a 30 year warranty.
Rainwater Filters
The type and quality of rainwater filter is paramount for any system, as the filter is responsible for removing debris from the rainwater and keeping the tank clean. Some filters, used on many continental systems, are not suitable for use in the UK as they require a large volume of water to be passed through the filter in one go, such as a storm or heavy down pour. In drizzly or light rain UK conditions, these filters are very inefficient and much of the rain by-passes the tank. OASIS rainwater harvesting systems use filters suited to UK rain conditions.
Pump
Rainwater Pumps are generally located either inside the tank or in the building. If the pump is located in the building then it must draw the water from the tank and this will restrict the siting of the tank. By locating the pump in the tank it can do what it is designed to do -pump not draw. It also means that you are not irritated by a noisy pump operating every time water is used. OASIS pumps are in the tank.
Direct / Indirect System
Direct systems pump water straight to appliances whereas an indirect system provides water to a header tank at the top of the building and water is supplied by gravity from the header tank to the appliances.
Indirect systems exert less pressure on the appliance's seals and fittings, but the pressure can be reduced if the head of water is not sufficient. OASIS rainwater harvesting systems can be either type and you can choose part of the system to be direct and part to be indirect if required.
